Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy – Relentless Pursuit of Excellence
Our Beginning in 1958, we continue a commitment to excellence by striving for quality in every job regardless of size, budget or time line. We still maintain the same foundation of integrity, trust and mutual respect that has made the business an ever-expanding success, and one of the premier contractors in the country. We live where we work and take immeasurable pride in the results we see every day.
Our People Beyond bricks and mortar, people are the backbone of our business. We value relationships with the people we serve—our clients, contractors, suppliers and associates. Together we can enhance the quality of life for all. Since we believe that buildings are a reflection of the people who build them, we hire leaders of esteemed character who are fair, kind and considerate. By attracting and retaining the best construction professionals in our industry, we are able to maintain the highest standards and ethics. When you work with Ozsaphire International Enterprise , you will experience positive attitudes, flexibility, transparency, timeliness, and quality workmanship
Employee Development
Give your employees the opportunity to develop and the freedom to make decisions, and they will succeed. Beyond technical, hands-on training, we train our staff to be equipped for work and life in the 21st century. By offering our employees knowledge, experience, know-how and accomplishment, it is no surprise that job satisfaction and exceptional work follow.
Our Project Partners to Safety , A wide community of professionals works together with us to deliver quality projects on time and within budget. With over 50 years experience, we have established relationships with the majority of trade and specialty contractors, suppliers and firms. These include small, women-owned, minority (SWAM) and historically underutilized businesses (HUB). Our own Supplier Diversity Program sets the standard in the construction industry by actively mentoring these contractors on how to become certified and qualify for new opportunities.
Our commitment
People are our greatest resource and most valuable asset. We value their safety above all else. Our Safety Program is rooted in the belief that when you put people first, success will follow. Our Value-Based Safety Program requires worker buy-in and global thinking, as opposed to a Priority-Based Program which emphasizes specific tasks, outcomes and statistical results. Safety is everyone's job. We encourage employees to think of working safely as protecting their neighbors, their families and their friends. Safety is a way of life and a constant endeavor. Our goal is simple: we want every worker to go home safely to their families every night.
Our Technology
Advancements in technology make buildings increasingly complex. Yet the demand for timely, quality and cost effective delivery has not changed. In order to match quality with efficiency in construction, technology has to play a part. Our innovative use of cutting-edge technologies enables cohesive project management that increases efficiency and improves communication. That way you stay informed and your project stays on schedule. Our projects include new technologies like -Web-based collaboration tools-Jobsite laptops that seamlessly unify the technology with the physical construction-24-hour access to web-based project team sites-Building Information Modeling (BIM)-Tablet Technology By incorporating technology early in a project's development, we can educate our partners on best practices and ---work together to improve overall project visualization, increase collaboration and productivity, and reduce the need for change orders and repeat work.
Founded in 1958 and Build to Last It's been over half a century since Norfolk native Syed Buniad hussain decided to start his own construction firm and after his death , his grand son Syed Khurram Hussain took the charge of the company as (CEO) . The company - along with its many landmark building projects throughout the mid-Atlantic – has withstood the test of time. COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT
Giving back to the community where we live and work is a cornerstone of our corporate culture. We proudly build facilities that improve quality of life for our neighbors, such as hospitals, schools, churches, and museums. But since buildings without people are just places, we believe in building community. Since 1990 we have sponsored an annual golf tournament to benefit the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. We participate in a corporate and employee contribution program with the United Way, and give to more than 200 charities annually. We encourage our employees to serve on boards of charitable organizations. As a company we provide items and services for charity auctions and donate our services to make charitable repairs to facilities . Since 1958 W.M. Projects In Africa
In 54 African countries there have seen steady economic growth but have struggled to leverage that growth into sustainable development policies and plans. For example, countries continue to rely excessively on low-productivity agriculture, and they have failed to develop strong manufacturing and construction industries. Ozsaphire as a company, we work with Africa’s public and private sectors to address the policy and institutional barriers that hamper sustained growth. In our view, it is not enough for African economies to simply grow. They must also transform.
Ozsaphire International Enterprise played a very good role in the development of the infrastructure of the East/West African countries and also in North Africa . Mostly rehabilitation projects under the UN Investment in infrastructure of construction is set to expand at a rapid pace in East Africa. In the three largest markets in the region, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, total infrastructure construction output is expected to soar from US$25.9bn in 2017 to US$98.8bn in 2022 (in nominal value terms), according to Global Data.
The company’s latest report, "Infrastructure Insight: East Africa", reviews some key components of the 287 large-scale public and private sector infrastructure projects in East Africa that Global Data are tracking, from project announcement to execution. Collectively, these projects are worth US$209.1bn. Transport (rail and road) and energy sectors account for a large proportion of the project pipeline (37.1 per cent and 45.2 per cent respectively), and have total values of US$77.5bn and US$94.6bn.
"Investment rates in transport infrastructure have been increasing, thanks to major continental initiatives such as the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) – a strategic continental initiative for mobilizing resources across African countries to transform Africa through modern infrastructure," said Yasmine Ghozzi, construction analyst at Global Data. Despite having some of the fastest-growing economies in the world, East Africa remains among the least
competitive regions globally, mainly due to poor infrastructure, which constitutes a significant impediment to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Reflecting this, governments in the region have allocated around a third of their individual budgets in the new financial year.
Work is currently underway on some of the biggest construction projects ever completed in Africa as the continent builds key infrastructure to support its fast growing population. Here are the top 10 major infrastructure projects in Africa:
1.) Grand Inga Dam
The Grand Inga Dam, a proposed hydroelectric dam at Inga Falls on Congo River in the Democratic Republic of Congo, tops the list of the top 10 biggest construction projects in Africa. The dam is designed to have an average output of 39,000 MW annually, nearly twice as much as the Three Gorges dam in China – making it the world’s largest hydropower scheme. Grand Inga Dam is expected to cost an estimated $100 billion, including the cost of transmission lines needed to carry its power across the continent. The project was expected to begin by December 2016. However, in July of that year the World Bank withdrew its funding following disagreements over the project.
2.) Egypt’s new capital city
Construction of housing units in a new, yet-to-be-named, administrative capital of Egypt has been completed but delivery will be within a year once key facilities have been installed. Located 45 kilometres east of Cairo, the smart city has 21 residential districts and 25 commercial districts. The city will have a recreation park double the size of New York City’s Central Park, 90 square kilometers of solar energy farms, and several artificial lakes.
Other key features include a technology park, 40,000 hotel rooms, a theme park four times the size of Disneyland, 2,000 educational institutions, 1,250 mosques, 663 hospitals and clinics, and a new international airport. Transfer of government ministries, foreign embassies, parliament, and presidential palaces is expected to take place between 2020 and 2022 at a cost of $45 billion. The total cost of the venture is yet to be disclosed, but the city is indeed one of the biggest mega projects in Africa.
3.) Konza Technology City
Kenya has embarked on construction of a $14.5 billion technology city in Machakos County in a bid to attract technology talents and investors to drive its economic growth.
Konza City, which is located 64 kilometres south of the capital Nairobi, is modelled around the US Silicon Valley – hence the moniker “African Silicon Savanna” The smart city targets business process outsourcing, software development, data centres, disaster recovery centres, call centres, light manufacturing industries, and research institutions. Konza has so far attracted several wealthy investors including a leading Korean university, although the slow pace of the project is raising concerns among its key stakeholders
4.) Dangote Oil Refinery
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is building a huge oil refinery in Ibeju Lekki district, on the outskirts of Lagos, Nigeria at an estimated cost of between $12 billion and $14 billion. With a capacity to process 650,000 barrels of crude a day, Dangote Oil Refinery will be one of the world’s biggest oil refineries when it begins operations in 2022. The refinery, which is expected to generate 9,500 direct and 25,000 indirect jobs, will produce Euro-V quality gasoline and diesel, as well as jet fuel and lypropylene. While Dangote took on a $3.3 billion syndicated loan, which Standard Chartered Plc arranged, about 60 per cent of the Dangote Oil Refinery will be self-funded.
5.) Lagos-Calabar Railway
6.) Bagamoyo Port
Tanzania has embarked on the construction of an $11 billion mega port at the Swahili historical town of Bagamoyo as it races to become a regional economic powerhouse. Majorly funded by China, Bagamoyo Port is expected to handle 20 million containers a year by 2045, making it the largest such facility in East Africa.
7.) Kenya Standard Gauge Railway
Kenya is building a 969-kilometre standard gauge railway from Mombasa to Malaba at a cost of $9.9 billion, in what is billed as one of the largest and most ambitious transport infrastructure projects in Africa. The first phase of the project, which spans 472km from Mombasa to Nairobi, has been completed at a cost of $3.27 billion; while phase 2A – from Nairobi to Naivasha (120km) is currently under construction at a cost of $1.5 billion. On the other hand, phase 2B of the new railway – from Naivasha to Kisumu (270km) is set to cost $3.8 billion; while phase 2C, a 107km extension from Kisumu to Malaba, will consume $1.31 billion.
8.) Modderfontein Mega City
9.) The Mambila Hydroelectric Power Project
Nigeria is undertaking construction of a mega hydropower dam as it seeks to boost its energy production. Dubbed Mambila Hydroelectric Power Project, the facility which has been planned for more than three decades is one of the biggest construction projects in Africa. The Mambila Hydroelectric Power Project, which is being undertaken by China’s Sinohydro Corp at a cost of $5.8 billion, will be connected to three dams across the Donga River in Taraba State, Nigeria. The facility will have a total installed capacity of 3,050MW of electricity.
10.) Grand Ethiopian Dam
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, formerly known as the Millennium Dam, is a gravity dam under construction on the Blue Nile River in Benishangul-Gumuz in Ethiopia. Work on the 6,000 MW dam began in 2011 and is now 70 per cent complete – way behind the July 2017 completion date. The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam will be the largest hydroelectric power plant in Africa, and the 7th largest in the world, once it gets completed. It is estimated that the reservoir will take five to 15 years to fill with water. The $4.8 billion facility is, however, facing criticism from rights groups who argue that it has displaced nearly 20,000 people.
